HOLZMINDEN, Germany—Symrise launched eight new types of grain to for use in cosmetic products to its Exapone® range called the Healthy Grains Collection.
There are now 11 grain varieties available to the cosmetic industry for use in skin and hair care products. In addition to traditional varieties such as oat, wheat and white rice, Symrise is also focusing on amaranth, quinoa, khorasan wheat, black rice, millet, barley, rye and spelt.
The possible applications for the Extrapone Healthy Grains considerable as the extracts can be used in facial, eye and hand care products; and cleansers, shower gels, shampoo and hair styling products;. All the extracts are water-soluble and can easily be used in cosmetic consumer products. They do not affect the fragrance or the opacity of the final product and are compatible with all prevalent raw materials utilized in cosmetic products.
