RIVER FALLS, Wisc.—Imulsi-Fi™, a natural emulsion stabilizer derived from orange pulp, was designed for use in a variety of personal care applications.

Formulation

A fibrous network grows inside the membrane of the orange fruit, the substance from which Imulsi-Fi is produced, which is picked and squeezed for its juice. Fiberstar™ then takes the remaining fibrous membranes and enhances their functionality in an environmentally friendly way, using the holistic process of loosening and opening the tightly bound soluble and insoluble fibers together with the proteins, sugars and fibers to create an expanded fiber matrix.

Features & Benefits

The skin and personal care ingredient's cellular structure and chemical composition enables both hydrophilic and lipophilic properties. Imulsi-Fi can lower interfacial tension to stabilize an oil/water matrix efficiently. It provides robust protection against coalescence throughout a products shelf-life. Oil in water emulsions made with Imulsi-Fi are pH-, heat- and freeze/thaw-stable. It is non-allergenic, free of genetically modified organisms (GMOs) and Ecocert certified. Products formulated with Imulsi-Fi can exhibit desirable sensory characteristics such as improved skin feel. Imulsi-Fi is a free-flowing powder with a neutral odor, and delivers a wide range of value in many applications where it makes “emulsifier-free" claims possible.

Applications

Imulsi-Fi is ideal for use in body lotion, after shave balm, day skin care protection, skin radiance, tinted moisturizer, body butter, lotion and bronzer applications.
