Carrot oil is an anti-aging tan activator that is most often used before and after sun bathing. The carrot oil in Lovea is a golden colored extract from carrots that offers optimal skin protection and conditioning benefits derived from the oil soluble carotenoids (beta carotene) that it contains. Carotenoids are naturally occurring antioxidants, which are present in a wide range of fruits and vegetables but most abundant in carrots. Carotenoids are known for their anti-aging benefits and directly reduce the damaging effects of UV by enhancing the body's immune response to UV exposure.
The carrot oil in Lovea is made by soaking carrot roots in sunflower oil. The product does not offer any SPF protection so it should be applied to the skin prior to SPF. Lovea (Copar) oils are supplied in an airtight glass bottle with a sealed pump dispenser at the top. Prior to shipping, the company stores the bottles in dark boxes to keep the oils fresh and preserve the antioxidants. In addition it is free of sulfates (sodium lauryl sulfate, sodium laureth sulfate, ammonium laureth sulfate), parabens and phthalates.
