ROTTERDAM, The Netherlands—IMCD Malaysia opened IMCD Personal Care Application Laboratory Asia Pacific in Glenmarie Shah Alam, Selangor, Malaysia. It will service the customers in Asia-Pacific.
IMCD Malaysia is a chemical distributor in Malaysia and has established markets in the personal care industry. Being part of a global distribution network, IMCD Malaysia is well poised to take advantage of its strong position to grow in the Malaysian market and support the development in Asia Pacific region.

The newly established personal care and household application laboratory on its current premise and the addition of chemists to its staff will see continuous growth and expansion of new lines in the personal care and household division. This laboratory will be providing formulation prototypes according to current market trends and ideas to customers which will be complementary to the sales of the raw materials related mainly to the personal care industry.
IMCD Personal Care team in Europe has been operational for a number of years and has strong track record in formulation work. As an illustration, the team developed a new product earlier this year—SMART5, a hydrocarbon-based alternative to Cyclopentasiloxane (D5). The product is manufactured and distributed exclusively by IMCD.
IMCD Personal Care Business Group offers the following products to the markets globally: absorbents, anti-dandruff agents, antifoaming agents, antioxidants, anti-perspirant agents, pigments, emollients and oils, exfoliants, fillers, film formers, functional ingredients, hair conditioning agents, hair fixatives, preservatives, rheology modifiers, sunscreen agents, surface active agents and texturizers.
This is in total an eighth laboratory for IMCD. The Group already has the following ones established: in Germany, Belgium, Sweden and India for Coatings; in Italy and South Africa for Personal Care; and in Belgium for Food and Nutrition. Those facilities provide training in marketing, trend analysis and cross-fertilization across all sectors of IMCD’s businesses. In addition, IMCD partners with its customers on research formulations, carrying out competitive matching and sharing new application opportunities.
