AKRON, Ohio—Shin-Etsu Silicones of America Inc. (SESA), a U.S. subsidiary of Shin-Etsu Chemical Co. Ltd., Japan, announced the opening of its new cosmetic application laboratory in Totowa, N.J., on April 1, 2011. The newly acquired building is strategically located 20 miles from Manhattan and Newark International Airport and will allow SESA to be closer to many of its strategic customers based in New York and New Jersey.
Dedicated to innovating sensory solutions for the personal care and cosmetic industry, their investment in the state-of-the art facility will allow local cosmetic chemists to utilize Shin-Etsu’s R&D resources without having to travel to its headquarters in Akron. Additionally, Shin-Etsu’s R&D personnel will be able to spend more time with their customers and better understand the needs of the dynamic cosmetics market.

We have relocated people from Ohio and hired a new formulation chemist so that we can better serve this strategic market."
