Estee Lauder Acquires Smashbox

NEW YORK—The Estee Lauder Companies Inc., manufacturer and marketer of fragrance, hair care and makeup products, completed an acquisition with Smashbox Beauty Cosmetics on Thursday, July 1, 2010. The terms of deal were not disclosed but Estee Lauder said the transaction is expected to accretive to earnings in fiscal year 2011, before transaction and integration costs. Moelis & Co. acted as financial advisor and Weil Gotshal & Manges LLP served as legal council.
