Here's why blush is fantastic: It takes the everyday and makes it "her" own. It not only adds color, but texture and shape and depth. What's not fun about an endless palette of colors (pinks, peaches, browns, purples, etc.) that brings the creative out of the studio and into the bathroom?
If you couldn't tell, I have a bit of crush on color; but color is only half the fun. There are so many ways to apply color—cheek stains (both Benefit and Tarte Cosmetics' cheek stains make blush an artistic experience with a mini "paintbrush" or "roller" to spice up cheek bones), the classic powder-based blushes and one of my favorites—cream blushes.
With all that said … this week's IOTW is Josie Maran Cosmetics' Argan Cream Blush (and no, it's not because it's a cream blush; although that didn't hurt). Here's why:
- Packaging: the compact is biodegradable
- Ingredients—argan oil, grape seed oil, pomegranate oil, avocado oil, coconut oil, shea butter, cocoa butter … come on—how could I not love that line up?
- Fragrance and parabens? Nope.
- Tested on animals? Nope.
It's like blush on steroids. You have color and texture and moisturizing oils and no controversial preservatives and staying power (no, you won't find it on your cell phone two hours after you applied it) and … you get the idea.
Never underestimate the power of a good blush.
