What are you doing this summer other than avoiding the heat? It may be a great time to evaluate your packaging. On Aug. 16, 2012 from 9:00 am - 5:00 pm in Atlanta, the Sustainable Packaging Collation (SPC) is hosting The Essentials of Sustainable Packaging (ESP), a comprehensive introduction to sustainability considerations that apply to the entire packaging life cycle: material sourcing, packaging design, manufacturing, transport and final disposal.

Through this one-day seminar, packaging professionals and corporate sustainability decision-makers will learn about the essential sustainability considerations for packaging and the strategies needed to create packaging that is beneficial for people and the planet. Using real world examples and interactive discussions, attendees will learn how a holistic view of sustainability applies to their packaging operations.

In addition to the upcoming session in Atlanta, SPC has a special half-day session scheduled before the SPC Fall Members Meeting in Pittsburgh on Sept. 9, 2012, that will focus on recovery, as well as a full one-day session in Toronto on Oct. 25 in partnership with PAC. The Collation is also offering various sessions in cities throughout mainland China over the course of the year. On-site, customized versions of the course are available and are a great way to train a large number of employees without the travel expenses. Click here for more info.
