NEW YORK—Sunday Jan. 30 and Monday, Jan. 31 marked the first Elements Showcase 2011 NYC, curated offerings in the art of fragrance design, at the Skylight West Midtown Manhattan. Buyers, distributors, industry professionals and press gathered the event, organized by Jeff Lawson, Frederick Bouchardy and Ulrich Lang. This showcase was a platform for the 28 established and emerging fragrance brands to be recognized for their artwork.
The show highlights included:
- New York-centric: Bond No. 9 launched another New York Oud—paradoxes that are characteristic of New York.
- Daring and playful: Margot Elena presenting Tokyomilk, Lollia and Love&Toast.
- Pure and organic: Susanne Kaufmann and her “organic treats" of fine skincare products made their first showing in the United States.
- Romantic: Sarah Barton-King captures your heart with "The Pink Room," presenting handcrafted fragrances (each with its own vivid story).
- Lyrical: Canadian-born perfumer, Ineke Ruhland, combines her natural joie de vivre for perfume, design and literature in her line of seven perfumes.
- Chic and sophisticated: Ulrich Lang’s avant-garde fragrances crafted for the urban man.
