LONDON—The BUAV added RAW Skin Food to its list of cruelty-free companies. RAW Skin Food has proven its dedication to providing products free from animal testing by gaining approval under the BUAV’s internationally recognized Humane Cosmetics Standard, symbolized by the Leaping Bunny logo. RAW Skin Food is an organic vegan skin care brand produced, manufactured and stocked in Islington, North London.  The brand is the brainchild of beauty blogger, makeup artist and budding entrepreneur 25 year Clare Eluka.

The RAW Skin Food range includes soaps and aromatherapy bathing products that are all handmade using traditional techniques and natural ingredients and aromatherapy-grade essential oils. RAW Skin Food joins many other companies to be approved by the BUAV’s Humane Cosmetics Standard—the gold standard in cruelty-free accreditation and a scheme to guarantee products are genuinely cruelty free. Companies approved under the Humane Cosmetics Standard submit to thorough audits to ensure no animal testing has been carried out at any stage of product development. After this thorough approval, companies gain the right to bear the Leaping Bunny and appear in BUAV’s The Little Book of Cruelty Free and on the website.

Chief executive of the BUAV, Michelle Thew stated: “I am so glad RAW Skin Food has become approved by our Humane Cosmetics Standard, offering even more choice for people who want to lead a cruelty-free lifestyle".

Founder of RAW Skin Food Clare Eluka added: “We are delighted to be approved by the BUAV's Humane Cosmetic Standard. The liberation of creating products which are completely allergen free and promote the benefits of cruelty free nature is not only a personal joy but an environmental and ethical duty and commitment to a progressive future of the British beauty industry."
