LACEY, Wash.—Unigen Inc. launched Bakutrol™, a triple-acting botanical skincare ingredient offering anti-microbial, anti-inflammatory and anti-scarring benefits. Unigen is currently discussing licensing and supply agreements with manufacturers and marketers of skincare, makeup, fragrance and hair care products. Unigen’s Bakutrol is a natural botanical alternative, derived from the novel plant extract Psolarea corylifolia, and has been scientifically proven to visibly improve skin appearance. Bakutrol contains bakuchiol, a compound which has been shown to inhibit the growth of pathogenic bacteria and to inhibit the COX/LOX inflammatory pathways.
