Hats are off to Aveda for its eco-friendly packaging. The Institute of Packaging Professionals (IOPP), which annually recognizes laudable packaging with its AmeriStar Award s, presented the 2009/2010 3M Sustainable Packaging Award to Aveda for its Light Elements Styling jars.

Two of Aveda’s styling products are featured in high-density polyethylene (HDPE) jars that use 99 percent post-consumer recycled (PCR) content, which are then packaged in cartons with 80 percent recycled content and fibers certified by the Forest Stewardship Council.
