EAST WINDSOR, N.J.—Sabinsa Corp.’s R&D group found its color-less, water-soluble antioxidant ingredient Saberry™ will be useful in cosmetic applications, with particular interest in hair care, anti-aging nutricosmetics, as well as sun care and after-sun care formulations. Sabinsa will showcase Saberry in booth A104 at in-cosmetics, April 13 to 15, 2010, in Paris.

Saberry, a patent-pending natural extract of amla (Indian gooseberry), is an antioxidant super fruit used in the Ayurvedic tradition as a ‘rasayana’, or tonic, in multiple compositions to support general health maintenance and the management of various health conditions. It is known to increase resistance to stress, making it ideal for anti-aging cosmetic products. Saberry is a light-colored powder and is processed from fresh Indian gooseberries using proprietary technology to preserve efficacy. Amla extract helps protect against the damaging effects of free radicals and heavy metal‐induced oxidative stress. It also helps control collagen metabolism, and has been found to possess significant potential as a UVA and UVB protectant. It has a long tradition of use improving the health of hair and scalp.
