HAMBURG, Germany— Dr. Straetmans introduced dermofeel®, a product line of three ingredients comprised of emulsifiers, functional oils and antioxidants for cosmetic and dermatological applications. The product profiles are tailored to meet the requirements of modern cosmetic concepts. Functionality and technical performance are the main focus for the development of the dermofeel product line. Wherever possible, the company chooses raw materials from sustainable sources.
The product line includes:
- DERMOFEEL® MCT: This ECOCERT listed polar oil portrays a good solvating behavior for the commonly used UV-filters. Together, with its ability to disperse pigments, it is an ideal for use in sunscreen products. The spreadability and skin feel of the finished product is improved when this oil is used.
- DERMOFEEL® SENSOLV: This polar oil has an ideal solvating power for commonly used UV-filters. Together, with its excellent ability to disperse pigments, it makes dermofeel sensolv an ideal ingredient for use in sunscreen products.
- dermofeel® Toco 70 non-GMO: This ECOCERT listed antioxidant protects cosmetic products and particularly sensitive active materials and native plant oils against oxidation. Today's cosmetics contain various active ingredients or native plant oils that can be susceptible to oxidation in the production process, but also upon storage of the finished product. An efficient protection of these ingredients is important to maintain the quality and guarantee the cosmetic efficacy of the product. Furthermore, the oxidative degradation of many ingredients can also result in discolouration and unpleasant odors in a product. dermofeel Toco 70 non-GMO is a mixture of natural tocopherols with a high efficacy. Since the material is not genetically modified it is also an ideal choice for certified natural cosmetics. To increase the lifetime of cosmetics even more, it can be helpful to use dermofeel® Ascorbyl Palmitate to extend the efficacy of dermofeel Toco 70 non-GMO. Another important measure to avoid the oxidation is to limit the presence of catalytic metal ions. This can be achieved by adding an effective natural chelating agent like dermofeel® PA-3. dermofeel Toco 70 non-GMO contains 70-percent tocopheryol and 30-percent certified organic sunflower oil as a solvent.
