This October marks the 25th annual Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Events will take place all over the country, from walks and fundraisers to pink cookies, T-shirts and more. Breast cancer has received a lot of support over the past couple decades, and many companies continue to actively support this cause.

This year, Pomega will be donating 10 percent of proceeds from sales of all Pomega5 products in October and November (Pomegranate Month) to the California-based To Celebrate Life Breast Cancer Foundation. The Pomega5 products feature natural ingredients such as pomegranate seed oil and conjugated linolenic acid (CLA), which has been shown to stimulate cell production and promote regeneration of the epidermis. To Celebrate Life Breast Cancer Foundation is a volunteer organization that works to increase awareness about breast cancer, offers financial help to those living with the disease and provides grants for early detection screening, support programs and educational services.

Another supporter of Breast Cancer Month is the Stript Wax Bar. They will be offering an exclusive Think Pink Pumpkin Facial during the month of October and 20 percent of proceeds will be donated to The Women’s Cancer Resource Center in Oakland, Calif. The 60-minute treatment includes cleansing, toning, pumpkin peel, extractions, pink cherry and vitamin C mask, massage and calming cream plus SPF to finish, plus a take-home package of aftercare products. The treatment will be offered at all three Stript Wax Bar locations—San Francisco, Oakland and Palo Alto. The Women’s Cancer Resource Center empowers women with cancer to be active and informed consumers and survivors by providing community, resources, support, and programming for women with cancer and their loved ones.

2010 is a great year to start supporting breast cancer, if you haven’t already. Get involved. Help support a local breast cancer cause or sponsor someone Walking for the Cure. Are you sending a percentage of your proceeds to a breast cancer cause or foundation? Send me your info at [email protected] and I’ll get it posted to our Web site. There is no time like the present.
