Symrise AG ~ SymHelios® 1031

03/12/2009

HOLZMINDEN, Germany—Symrise AG developed SymHelios® 1031, a new ingredient that protects the skin against long-term damage induced by environmental factors, particularly ultraviolet (UV) B radiation. SymHelios works by binding to the transmitter protein aryl hydrocarbon receptor (AhR), preventing the protein from binding with toxins, such as those induced by UVB rays; interfering with the ability of AhR to transport toxins deeper into the cells can thereby prevent cellular damage. SymHelios 1031 can be used in a broad range of personal care products including facial creams and sun care lotions.
