Is Organic Makeup Possible?

With buzz words like “organic”, “green” and “antioxidant” flying around the personal care aisles and companies touting “all-natural” or focusing their advertising on popular ingredients such as vitamin C and vitamin E, it’s no surprise that more companies have an interest in creating organic personal care products. Consumers are on the lookout for skin care applications free of parabens and synthetics. However, creating a certified organic skin care line may be possible, but creating makeup with a colorful palate is just one of the challenges that may arise when creating organic cosmeceuticals.

Nick Morante discusses the challenges with finding color additives that are not synthetically derived to create lipsticks, eyeshadows and nail colors, and the never ending cost challenges that arise when creating products with organic ingredients.
