According to CosmeticsDesign.com, researchers at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston stumbled upon a new discovery for those who suffer from nickel-induced dermatitis (induced by a skin allergy to nickel). What they discovered is nanoparticles that contain calcium nickel from getting into the body.
The team of researchers said when a hand-like cream is applied, the nanoparticles grab onto the nickel, blocking its pathway to the skin. The nanoparticles were designed to not be able to penetrate the skin. After the cream is applied, it and the nickel can be washed off.
