ROYAL PALM BEACH, Fla.—Al Sears, M.D., one of the first physicians licensed to administer the anti-aging therapy TA-65 MD to his patients, introduced the supplement to the general public through his website.
Sears and a group of specialists met to discuss some work done in an area of genetics that he’s been following for years. They had discovered a plant-based compound that appears to help slow the aging process and some of its consequences. The underlying science they used to explain it jibed with what Sears has learned through his own work in anti-aging.
TA-65 MD was designed to activate the gene that regulates a natural enzyme called telomerase. This enzyme helps to control cell division and may hold the key to helping stay more youthful and vibrant as the body ages. It lengthens human telomeres—the protective tips that cap the ends of DNA. Every time cells divide in the body, telomeres get shorter; and when telomeres run out, cell division stops and that cell’s life comes to an end.
