First Annual NutriCosmetic Summit

LAS VEGAS—The first annual NutriCosmetic Summit is being held on June 10, 2010 in Las Vegas. Attendance at this one-day conference/think tank is a gathering of experts and leaders in the skin care industry interested in learning more about beauty from within and one of the fastest growing segments of the nutritional supplement industry—skin beauty supplements. The event is produced by the Supply Network part of New Hope Media, a division of Penton Media Inc.

Nutricosmetics lies at the intersection between nutritional supplements and skin care cosmetics. It refers to the recent development of orally ingested nutritional supplements that promote healthier and more youthful looking skin. The nutricosmetic industry is on the rise, and projected to reach $2.5 billion by 2012, up from $1.5 billion estimated currently.

“The body uses nutrition to regenerate, replenish and support the complex interior structure of the skin—from inside the body,” said Suhail Ishaq, vice president of BioCell Technology. “Since the surface of the skin acts as a barrier, topical cosmetic treatments can only deliver superficial results.
