Study to Examine Anti-Aging at Cellular Level

GREENWOODVILLAGE, Colo.—A team of researchers led by Kimberly Stone, M.D., a board certified dermatologist, are studying a blend of Protandim®, an antioxidant supplement,  and LP Derma Complex in a topical cream to determine if these anti-aging ingredients combined can affect aging at a cellular level. “Early indications show that the combined formulation of Protandim and LP Derma Complex may further accelerate the skin’s innate ability to rejuvenate itself,” said David Brown, CEO and president, LifeVantage, manufacturer of Protandim. “We believe the study will show that this exciting new anti-aging formula is a break-through system that provides the skin with greater hydration, better penetration, increased production of antioxidant enzymes and a protective shield to slow down the aging effects from the environment.”

Stone noted aging is the result of cellular deterioration caused by rogue molecules known as free radicals. As the body ages, the ability to fight these free radicals becomes more challenging. “A person’s body fights free radicals by producing its own antioxidant enzymes,” she said. “But as we grow older, our bodies produce more free radicals and less of these special antioxidants to fight the battle of aging.” Results of study will be available later in the year.
