Copalis ~ Sea Plant Peptides

03/12/2009

BOULOGNE/MER, France—Copalis Sea Solutions® for Beauty released a range of sea plant peptides for cosmetic applications. Copalis uses enzymatic hydrolysis followed by purification steps to select active peptides from halophyte plants; harvesting is controlled by agricultural authorities and the raw materials are certified natural by Ecocert. Sea Beet (Beta maritima) peptide fights over-production of melanin, blocking melanin synthesis and even exerting a depigmenting effect, resulting in skin lightening. The peptide of Sea Fennel (Crithmum maritimum) has an anti-blemish effect, inhibiting angiogenesis to decrease tubule length. Finally, Sea Lavender (Limonium latifolium) peptide exerts a protective effect against ultraviolet (UV) radiation, delivering significant antioxidant protection with value in sun care and anti-aging formulations.
