NEW YORK—Coloring hair is tricky. It can potentially dry out and damage hair; and the upkeep is often ridiculous. That's why Redken introduced its Chromatics Prismatic Permanent Color, a formula featuring protein extracts that fortifies hair and gives desired color results. The formula provides hair with 100-percent gray coverage and has zero ammonia, and leaves hair two times more fortified (fortifies the cuticle for two times less breakage when using Chromatics permanent haircolor System with 20 volume Oil in Cream Developer and Redken Hair Cleansing Cream Shampoo versus uncolored hair treated with a non-conditioning shampoo), according to the company. It uses ODS2, an oil delivery system and Protein Extract Technology to protect hair, while color dyes and protein extracts condition for high shine and color. Chromatics Prismatic Permanent Color comes in shades for blondes, brunettes and redheads.
