QUEBEC CITY—Although Unipex Innovations already introduced its formula Capixyl™ for other applications, it recently launched it for the support of thicker eyelash growth. Capixyl is formulated from a combination of a single peptide and red clover extract. It can be used in applications such as eyelash mascara, eyelash serum, eyelash conditioner, eyelash treatment and active makeup.
According to a clinical efficacy study conducted by Unipex, 17 volunteers applied either an eye gel contaitng 2.5 percent Capixyl or a placebo at the base of their upper and lower lashes twice a day for eight weeks. The lash length was three times better after four weeks and five times better after eight weeks. Lash density increased 27 percent after eight weeks.
