WICKLIFFE, Ohio—The Lubrizol Corp. acquired Active Organics Inc., a manufacturer and supplier of naturally derived specialty ingredients, including botanical extracts and natural performance ingredients for the personal care industry. The transaction was announced on Dec. 12, 2011.
The addition of Active Organics to Lubrizol's personal and home care product line provides a strong entry into the botanical extracts and natural-performance ingredients market and enhances Lubrizol's existing technology in naturally derived ingredients.

With the close of the transaction, Active Organics is now a wholly owned subsidiary of Lubrizol Advanced Materials. Recognized Active Organics' brands include Actiphyte® and Actiplex® botanical extracts, ActiLipid® and ActiMatrix®.
