U.K.-based cosmetics company Lush and eco-manufacturer Remarkable are teaming up to create recycled cosmetics packaging. In an effort to utilize more a more sustainable packaging alternative, Lush is outsourcing the recycling of its black plastic pots, which currently a plastic—polypropylene—that is not recycled by all local authorities; however, Remarkable is able to use the pots as recycled stock for the Pillar of Fizz packaging.
"When Lush do have to use packaging for cosmetic products we think carefully about the journey it undertakes, both in getting to us and when it leaves," said Maria Feast, Lush’s packaging buyer, as reported by Edie.net.
