MUNSTER, Ind.—Royal & Langnickel Brush Manufacturing Inc., manufacturing of handcrafted beauty brushes, added QR codes to its S.I.L.K Pro line beauty. The QR code will let customers and potential customers instantly learn about products and services by scanning the code with a smartphone. The codes will appear on product packaging and take the viewer to a short video clip on how to use that particular brush. The videos, featuring two-time Emmy Award winning makeup artist, Kevin James Bennett, are currently available on 25 S.I.L.K TM line brushes with plans to expand to all Royal & Langnickel beauty products.

“We have 12 product lines that include hundreds of individual brushes," said Bill Dovellos, VP of marketing for Royal & Langnickel. “Each brush has a particular function, so our main goal in using these codes was to educate our diverse customer base with a visual demonstration by a respected professional. It’s like having a personal, pro makeup tutor."

This strategic move, following the revamp of the company’s website, embraces its consumers’ desire to utilize technology in making conscious shopping decisions.
