ZURICH, Germany—Rahn Cosmetics introduced Proteolea®, an ingredient designed to improve various symptoms of premature skin aging. Research by the company shows that Proteolea improves skin roughness, increases skin hydration and reduces cellular renewal with olive leaf extract combined with oleuropein, Chinese date extract and the polysaccharide, levan. Proteolea has been shown through the company's  in vitro studies to activate the proteasome, improve stress resistance and slow down cellular skin aging. Proteolea has been shown to improve skin hydration, roughness and cellular renewal and rejuvenate the eye area by six years within four weeks in order to counteract the premature signs of aging. Proteolea is water soluble and can be incorporated into cosmetic formulations such as creams, gels and emulsions with a recommended use level of  one to five percent.
