BANGKOK—in-cosmetics Asia 2011, taking place in Bangkok Nov. 2 to Nov. 4, 2011, announced its education program with more than 50 seminars and demonstrations led by some of the industry’s most distinguished experts. There are three main components: Marketing Trends, Innovation Seminars and the Innovation Zone.
“The free education program has always been one of our most important features at the show," said Cathy Laporte, group marketing manager for in-cosmetics Asia."By providing participants with direct exposure to leading industry organizations and figures, the program helps attendees to stay on top of sector developments. This year, we have a broad range of speakers from across the globe discussing the very latest trends and we are all confident that the resources available will be more valuable than ever before."
Marketing Trends
The Marketing Trends program is an extensive series of seminars where industry and brand experts analyze the latest developments in the market and impart their expert knowledge. Tailored to the personal care market and delivering detailed facts, figures and case studies in a series of key presentations, the seminars are aimed at inspiring original and innovative marketing campaigns.
Highlights of the program include a seminar led by Anna Ibbotson of Kline, “Specialty Actives: Insights from the Mature Markets," Nov. 2 at 3:45 to 4:30 p.m.; talk headed by Yulia Fransisca of Euromonitor International , “Asia Beauty Trends – 2011 and Beyond," on Nov. 3 from 10:30 to 11:15 a.m.; and a discussion on “Post Earthquake Japan - Implications for Beauty," chaired by Daniel Bone from Datamonitor on Nov. 3 from 3:45 to 4:30 p.m.

The Innovation Zone
After the success of the Innovation Zone in 2010, an entire area has been dedicated to cutting-edge products launched either at the show or up to eight months before will be featured. Companies already signed-up to showcase their products include: Arch Personal Care Products, Ashland, Bioland, Dow Chemical, Mibelle and Seiwa Kasei. A number of exhibitors will demonstrate their products in a series of 30-minute informative sessions, providing a unique learning opportunity for visitors to understand how they could be used in their formulations.
An interactive display entitled Beauty and the Elements by Mintel Beauty Innovation will offer visitors the opportunity to touch, feel and try the latest beauty products incorporating oxygen, carbon, water and other earthly elements as ingredients. Daily demonstrations will take place between 11:00 and 11:30 a.m., and 3:00 and 3:30 p.m.
Innovation Zone Best Ingredient Award
in-cosmetics Asia partnered with SPC Asia to run the Innovation Zone Best Ingredient Award at the event for very the first time this year. Created to recognize an original ingredient that combines innovative science and product features, entries will be judged by a panel of industry experts and winners will be announced on Thursday Nov. 3, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the Marketing Trends Theatre.
The Innovation Seminars
Designed to provide first-hand knowledge of the latest products to be launched, the Innovation Seminars are led by personal care experts and have an interactive format packed with information. More than 30 seminars will cover an extensive range of topics, including: Solaveil SpeXtra - An Award Winning Solution for Complete UV Protection’ on Nov.2 from 10:30 to 11:00 a.m. by Rachel Baines of Croda Europe; and a debate on 5 years Younger in 4 weeks – is that Possible?, led by Barbara Obermayer of RAHN AG on Nov. 3 from 3:45 to 4:15 p.m.
