ESSEN, Germany—Evonik introduced TEGOSOFT® OER, a vegetable-based, enzymatically produced ester. It creates a non-oily skin feel and is easy to formulate with. It can be incorporated into both oil-in-water (O/W) and water-in-oil (W/O) systems, and is suitable for color-sensitive cosmetic formulations. As part of Evonik environmentally friendly products and sustainable enzymatic production process, TEGOSOFT OER provides sensory properties to O/W and W/O formulations similar to those of cold-pressed jojoba oil. Due to the enzymatic production process, the product has less side components and demonstrates high purity. It is a clear emollient with low color, and has no noticeable impact on the appearance of cosmetic formulations. Applications include skin care products, sun care products, color cosmetics and other personal care products. In addition, TEGOSOFT OER is fully biodegradable and preservative-free.
