KENT, England—Adina Chemicals introduced Spirulene Concentree, a liquid extract from fresh spirulina, a microscopic blue-green algae, which has a high content of phycocianin (95 mg/100g). Phycocianin is the main pigment in Spirulina platensis and is a fluorescent protein which catches photons and then transforms this light energy into biological energy. It is an antioxidant suitable for cosmetics and is produced using a cold-extraction process to maintain full biological activity.
It has anti-inflammatory activity, acting on IL1 and PGE2 release induced by UVB exposure, as well as being an immunomodulator which acts on IL 8 and IL 10 release and restores lymphocyte proliferation. Spirulene Concentree is recommended for anti-aging skincare products and for protection against environmental aggressions. It is preservative free and ECOCERT approved.
