SUMMERVILLE, S.C.—Scienceuticals Inc. is celebrating its fourth anniversary this month. Over the past four years, the company has experienced success within the contract manufacturing business and anticipates continued growth in the future. Donald Hayden, founder and CEO of Scienceuticals, began the business in 2005 after noting a void in the marketplace for a high-quality, customer-driven contract manufacturer. He soon discovered the great opportunity within the contract manufacturing space, and more specifically, the cosmetic, over-the-counter (OTC) and drug arena.
"I knew contract manufacturing had great potential" said Hayden, "When we saw a need within the cosmetics, OTC and drug fields, we moved quickly to fill that need."
Since 2005, the company has seen a great amount of growth and success with double-digit growth every year. But Hayden noted the business hasn't always been smiles and sunshine. He said the most difficult part during the start-up period was keeping up with customer demands and changing trends, but he calls this a "happy problem."
"With the right employees, customers, goals and objectives, we have been able to thrive and persevere in this business," explained Hayden. "High-customer demand is definitely a good problem to have."
The company's success is evident by the opening of its facility in Reno, Nev. in May 2009. Now with manufacturing facilities on the East and West coasts, Scienceuticals can greatly increase production and keep up with the "happy problem" of customer demand.
"We're very proud of our success so far as a cosmetics manufacturer, and it's our goal to be the best in the business," said Hayden. With such expansion and progress within just four years, the future looks bright for Scienceuticals. The company hopes to continue the trend and keep pace with the ever changing market.
