MUNICH, Germany—Cosmeceutical firms looking for the latest information about the technical, formulation and ingredient issues surrounding natural and organic cosmetics may want to turn their eyes to Munich, Germany, this spring. Organic Monitor and in-cosmetics are sponsoring two interactive workshops on the topic to run alongside in-cosmetics 2009, set for April 21 to 23.
The first workshop, “Natural and Organic Cosmetic Standards,” set for April 20, will examine the new harmonized Cosmetics Organic Standard in Europe as well as other global standards, the differences among them and the implications of getting certified. On the other end of the show, the workshop “Formulating Chemically-Clean Cosmetics: Challenges & Pitfalls” on April 23 will focus on technical issues and formulation challenges involved when using natural and organic ingredients, including an assessment of natural alternatives to commonly used synthetics, and their efficacy.
