Kemira Increases Price for Titanium Dioxide

NORTHVALE, N.J.—Kemira Pigments will raise prices on all of its titanium dioxide grades sold in the North America for food, drug and cosmetics applications by $.12/lb., effective April 1, 2008. “The increased energy and raw material costs of producing titanium dioxide pigments, in combination with a weakened U.S. dollar, have necessitated this increase,” said Clas Gripenberg, vice president, packaging inks segment, Kemira. He added that cost cutting measures taken at the plant are not enough to offset rising costs.
