Evonik Strengthens Partnership with Sabinsa

FRANKFURT, Germany—Evonik Industries and Sabinsa elevated their marketing partnership to a new level after Evonik announced it will offer two new ingredients from Sabina’s standardized botanical actives and extracts developed specifically for cosmeceutical use in the personal care industry. The new agreement deepens the one-year relationship and expands global exposure to Sabinsa’s active ingredients by tapping into Evonik’s extensive customer base.

“Collaborating with Sabinsa has allowed us to strategically broaden our ingredients portfolio with novel nature-derived ingredients,” said Willy Klipp, senior vice president and general manager, Evonik Care Specialties. “As these bio-active compounds exactly meet the needs of our customers, we want to offer them now another two Sabinsa cosmeceuticals for the development of innovative products and new applications.”

The two products are Vinocin™, a 90 percent standardized extract derived from the seeds of the horse chestnut tree, which has been shown to benefit varicose and spider veins; and Xymenynic acid from Santalum album seeds, are said to have an anti-inflammatory effects. These products will complement the existing range of plant extracts from Sabinsa that Evonik offers: Tego® Galanga,  Policosanol, Arjuna and Turmerone. The products are produced at Sami Labs Ltd., Sabinsa’s research center located in Bangalore, India, and have been tested for safety and efficacy in their biological research laboratory by advanced in vitro systems like cell lines and bioassays.
