Bacteria May Help Eczema

Improvements were seen when patients with atopic eczema applied creams with the harmless bacteria Vitreoscilla filiformis, found in thermal springs and spas.

The researchers noted in the study published in the British Journal of Dermatology the benefits come from compounds in the bacteria which can regulate the immune system.
