Everywhere you look it seems companies are creating “green” or eco-friendly products. While we’ve come to expect it from cleaning brands, cosmetics and skin care, the green trend is crossing over into just about every product now. It’s a wonderful thing!

Sprint is introducing Reclaimä; an earth friendly, socially conscious phone made out of 80 percent recycled materials. Another green techie launch is the Xerox Colorqube, an Energy Star qualified, multifunction printer that utilizes cartridge free, non-toxic ink technology, which reduces waste.

For you chefs, Crate & Barrel offers the exclusive GreenPan. It has a non-stick interior and a hard-anodized exterior for rapid heat distribution without hot spots and 50 percent fewer greenhouse gases emitted during the manufacture. Cuisinart offers a similar cooking pan, called the Green Gourmet, which is manufactured using seventy percent recycled stainless steel.

Thinking of renovating or refreshing your home? Why not go green? Mohawk Flooring offers green carpet—yes, green carpet. It’s amazing; the carpet is made from recycled PET bottles. Every part of the plastic bottle is recycled, including the cap, the label, and the bottle. The cap and the label are used to make carpet cores around which the carpet is wrapped. These are reused over and over again, unlike cardboard cores that would typically be discarded. The actual bottle is then used to make the PET carpet fiber. Mohawk also offers recycled wood flooring, tile and laminate.

Gaiam, a lifestyle company, offers everything you could want to decorate your home in eco-friendly styles as well as fair trade products. They offer everything from bedding, to solar items, to eco toys and gadgets. I love the organic sheets and comforters.

It’s easy being green. Simply Google green living tips, green ideas, live greener, eco-friendly products and so on to learn about small changes (or big) you can make to contribute to the green movement. I’ll bet you can green just about anything you need!
