If it sounds too good to be true—it may be. Anti-aging products are being afforded some hefty claims with promises to reduce, eliminate and/or prevent in a turnaround times that seem unrealistic. According to Dr. Nilima Arun Kshirsahar, member of the committee for pharmacovigilance formed by the World Health Organization (WHO), “Anti-aging and fairness creams are basically drugs that enjoy the liberties given to cosmetics.” The line between a cosmetic and a drug is being blurred and consumers are being cautioned to use anti-aging products at their own risk.
