It’s easy to get confused when shopping in the cosmetics aisle. So many products have their branded “active ingredients” that promise to make wrinkles and fine lines disappear. The problem is they don’t all work; it’s like trying to decide which magic wand really has the healing powers. But bigger than that, some of these products can make things worse due to their ingredient list.
Many of these “magical” products have preservatives and chemicals that can cause adverse effects. Oftentimes, certain botanicals or citrus ingredients can cause allergic reactions or skin irritation, potentially leaving the consumer worse off. It’s also high risk to mix multiple products together manufactured by different companies, as the mixing of chemicals can also cause a reaction. Clearly labeling products can help eliminate some of these adversities; however, the end decision is ultimately up to the consumer to carefully read your ingredient list, watching for possible allergens; and abide by the label instructions advising them to not mix with any other products.
